Privacy policy
What we collect, what we do with it, and how to make us stop. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

Who we are
newdigi is a digital marketing studio based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, run by Hayden Coutts. We build websites and run marketing, including text and email messaging, for small and mid-sized businesses. You can reach us at hayden@newdigi.ai or +1 (204) 887-6995.
This policy covers newdigi.ai and the ways we contact you. When we run messaging or websites for a client business, that business is responsible for its own customers' information and should have its own policy; we handle that information on their instructions.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you fill in a form, book a call, email, call or text us, we keep what you give us: your name, email address, phone number, business name, website, and your message.
- Calls and texts. If you call or text our business number, we keep the number, the time, and the content of texts. Calls may be recorded for quality and training; you'll hear a notice if so.
- How the site is used. We use PostHog and Google Analytics to see how people use newdigi.ai: which pages are visited, which buttons are clicked, what kind of device and browser you're on, and roughly where you are (city or region). We also record anonymous session replays, which show mouse movement, scrolling and clicks so we can find parts of the site that confuse people. Anything typed into a form field is masked and never recorded. We don't use this to identify you.
- Client work. If you become a client, we keep what we need to deliver the work: logins you share, content, analytics for your site, and the records in the customer system we set up for you.
How we use it
- To reply to you and set up a call.
- To deliver and support the services you've asked for.
- To send you messages you've agreed to receive (see the next section).
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Text messages (SMS)
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, here's how that works:
- How you opt in. By checking the consent box on one of our forms, by texting our business number, or by asking us to text you. If you call us and we miss it, we may text you back once to let you know how to reach us.
- What we send. Replies to your enquiry, booking confirmations and reminders, and, if you've agreed to it, occasional updates about our services.
- How often. Message frequency varies with your enquiry or booking. Message and data rates may apply.
- How to stop. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for help, or email hayden@newdigi.ai. We honour opt-outs promptly and no later than 10 business days.
- No sharing. Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging opt-in information are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share them only with the platforms that deliver our messages, and only to deliver them.
- Carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Commercial email and Canada's anti-spam law
Every commercial email or text we send identifies newdigi and includes a way to unsubscribe. If you've enquired with us, we may follow up for up to six months under Canada's anti-spam legislation. If you've bought from us, for up to two years. If you've given express consent, until you withdraw it. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP, clicking unsubscribe, or emailing us.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the business, and they only get what they need to do their job: website hosting, email, the customer and messaging platform we use to reply to you, scheduling, website analytics, advertising (Google), and accounting. Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law. We don't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and messages: as long as needed to deal with them, and up to two years after our last contact. Client records: for the length of the engagement plus seven years for tax and accounting. Call recordings: up to 90 days unless there's a reason to keep one longer. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will unless we're required to keep it.
Your rights
Under Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw consent to how we use it. Email hayden@newdigi.ai and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies
newdigi.ai uses cookies and local storage for three things: making the site work, analytics (PostHog and Google Analytics), and measuring our Google Ads. The analytics cookies recognise repeat visits and keep a session together. The Google cookies also tell us whether someone who clicked one of our ads went on to book a call or send a message. We don't sell your information or let other advertisers use it. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. You can also opt out of Google's ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Security
We use reputable providers, two-factor authentication on our accounts, and limited access to client logins. No method is perfect; if we ever learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll tell you.
Children
newdigi.ai is for businesses and the people who run them. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
When we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes to how we use your information will be flagged on this page.
